Soap-a-Dope : Couple Arrested for Child Abuse
A relatively clean story as crime stories generally go. A Palm Bay, Florida woman and her boyfriend were arrested Monday on suspicion of child abuse. To teach her a lesson for swearing they Dialed up the punishment and now everyone’s in a lather.
Yup, they washed their daughter’s mouth out with soap.
Police say Adriyanna Herdener and Wilfredo Rivera went too far by placing a bar of soap in the little girl’s mouth and letting it suds there for 10 minutes.
This reminds me of the scene with poor Ralphie in A Christmas Story. Wasn’t that kid forced to chomp on Lifebouy?

For kicks my step monster would make me take a bite out of soap chew it up and swollow it. She stood there to make sure I did it. Pretty much the whole brand new bar.

Ugh! That story brings back memories!I had to keep Safegaurd in my mouth 5 to 10 mins as punishment too. Then there was phillnappa soap and tabasco sauce and hold not swollow the mouthful of cod liver oil… ewwwww!

Maybe not the best idea for punishment, but come on….arrested for child abuse? I think that was going a bit too far.

Ten minutes is a bit too long, but I don’t think an arrest was warranted. Maybe some parenting lessons.
When I was 7 years old I said the “b” word in front of my Grandmother. Her son, my Uncle Ernie was only a few years older than me and he used to say it all the time when she wasn’t around.
When she heard that word come out of my mouth she had me stick my tongue out, and she wiped a bar of soap (Dial) across it 2 or 3 times.
Now my sainted granny rarely had a cross word for me, so this really made an impression on me. I tearfully told her that I had heard the bad word from Uncle Ernie. She knew it was the truth when Uncle Ernie called me a “tattle tale”. He got the soap too, and he stopped cussing, at least in front of me.
To this day, I cringe when I hear a lot of cuss words.

There is MUCH more to it…. Little Yanna had soap-bubbles coming out of her eyes and nose.. Adriyanna has raised that poor child in soup kitchens and assistance offices… She has mental problems and should have had the child removed long ago… She would yell at her in a voice that you would expect from special effects dept horror movies… Terrible situation- and Wilfredo is not even her father…. wonder where Patrick is? They deserved to be arrested… anyone who raises children in that type of poverty and environment needs it….
