Mary Kay Letourneau is Back

hotteachernight.jpegReaders who have wanted a postscript to the story Gregg Olsen told in Loving You is Wrong will be happy to know that Mary Kay Letourneau is back in the news. She’s hosting a “Hot for Teacher” night at Fuel in Seattle’s Pioneer Square this weekend. The DJ is none other than Vili Fualaau.

Yup, that’s right. Hot for Teacher night.

Here’s a snip from KOMO TV news:

Fuel’s owner, Mike Morris, said he realizes having Letourneau host a “Hot Teacher” night could be touchy and might rub some people the wrong way.

But the way he figures it, “Mary’s done her time. She’s served her sentence. They’re now married; they have kids together.”

“It’s turned into sort of a love story,” he says. “I realize it had a sick twist at the beginning, but they’re both adults now. They’re both married by the state of Washington. So, it’s just go and have fun on a Saturday night – and if people are looking to have some fun, just come check us out.”

Morris said this is actually the third time that Letourneau and Fualaau have hosted a “Hot for Teachers” night at the nightclub. The first two events were low-key, and he said patrons really warmed up to the couple.

“We get lots of people who want to come meet them. And once they do meet them, they’re like, ‘Oh my God, she’s so down-to-earth and so nice, and he’s such a good DJ,’ that it’s creating like a stir or a buzz, and its bringing people back,” Morris says.

Letourneau’s role is to make people feel welcome and comfortable, he says.

“She meets people, she greets people, she dances to music, she hosts the party,” Morris says. “And she’s an absolute sweetheart. And everyone who meets her realizes that and is kind of flabbergasted by how nice she is.”

We don’t post here often, but with this update…who could resist?

Oh my. I’m not really sure what to say here. I read your book on her, and at times found myself sympathizing with her. You’d think, though, that she may want to keep a lower profile than this.

  2. admin Says:

I agree with you, Sporky. This “appearance” makes me sad.

  3. Compassrose Says:

We live in strange times where people can commit the sleaziest of crimes and go on to make a living being “celebrities.” IMHO — The entire concept of the event with Letourneau as the “host” is offensive.

    having fun reposting the link??

As for MKL I agree this isn’t the best choice especially where her kids are concerned. They are old enough now some of them to get into said club Gregg aren’t they? From the previous husband?

I lived in Seattle when all this went down and it doesn’t surprise me at all they would do this. She broke bail by getting in contact with him AND fathering another baby so why not?

Sad. Really sad. Glad you posted about this! Hey the poll said I already voted but I hadn’t!

Are we going to hear your view on the update with Peterson and the possibility of his 4th wifes body being found? No DNA match yet but a blue barrell in the area. The homeowner had seen it and flashed about the story but put it out of her mind til the next day when the bones were found. No head or arms though. They say it could be her or one other woman. It sounds to me like it’s probably her. I’d be surprised if it wasn’t being only 16 miles from her house.

btw to correct an error I previously reported, Michelle Young’s husband hasn’t been convicted of her murder, he was just found civilly responsible in a wrongful death case against him from her family. I had heard the latter and thought it was referring to him being arrested and convicted. Taught me to read through everything before posting.

No matter how much time passes, MKL never seems to learn from her past mistakes. When the judge initially ordered her to stay away from Vili, she cared not about the consequences of violating this order. Hence, a second baby was conceived.

Now that she has children and should be focussing her efforts on raising her children appropriately, she again makes decisions based upon what SHE wants, not what might be best for others. There appears to be no thought given to how the “event” might impact her many children.

This woman is a walking disaster and a complete disgrace to mothers everywhere. Once you have children, their needs come first. She appears to have given no thought about the embarassment, humiliation, or confusion this might cause her children or the negative publicity that might result from her appearance.

This “event” is capitalizing on a CRIME and MKL seems only too happy to oblige. She remains a very sick woman.

Hi, nice posts there :-) express’s for the interesting advice

  9. Compassrose Says:

I guess this is a question for Gregg. Do you think Mary Kay felt/feels she did anything wrong?

I got the impression throughout the Gregg’s book, separate articles, media, and MKL own behaviors that she does not feel she has ever done anything wrong. It is all of us that has it twisted and consider it a crime. This is a “love” story — of course, between a mentally imbalanced adult and a child– but, heck, even the promoter of this “event” calls their affair a love story. Sick how so many can conspire to justify what they have to know is just wrong.

  10. Jeanne From NC Says:

good question Compassrose! I’d love to know that too Gregg.

They did go through with the appearance. It’s on tmz.com.

  11. MomofOne Says:

Seriously, something is wrong with this woman and her thought process. She had a baby with a baby and apparently she’s proud of that. Sheesh!

  12. Melissa Says:

Eh, I am disinteristed now. They cant get jobs, so they do stuff like this.

  13. Chinwag Says:

You know I am 47, married 26 years to the same guy, with three children. My opinion is this, she did the crime and she served the time. They are no longer student and teacher they are husband and wife and mother and father. The event sounds like the minds of the 26 year olds (my daughter included whom I might add is in her eighth year in the Navy) I know. Let us not forget he is youthful as are his thoughts. Leave them alone and focus more on what we can change, ourselves!

  14. FIFI Says:

I just wonder how much of this kinda thing happens, and no one finds out…or tells…or whatever?? But I agree that it’s old news, and they are not “kids” anymore…the only people that might be screwed up…(may be her (their) kids???

  15. Lisa in OK Says:

I wonder if she would feel differently if one of her elementary school-age daughters “fell in love” and began an affair with a male teacher.

  16. USS Yorktown Says:

Mary Kay Letourneau is really off her head. What is wrong with her?

  17. Rayvyn Myst Says:

    Everyone has valid points.

Lisa, that is one way to see it but Chinwag has a good point, too. Would we want our kids to fall in love with their teacher, etc? No, not really but she did her time and is a free woman now to continue her life with her husband and their kids.

Because they can’t get jobs, they do what they have to, to survive, possibly.

  18. JeanneFromNC Says:

At the time she was first dating Villi, she had a son the same age and used that to her advantage saying he was sleeping over with her son etc. I don’t think she’d care either way if her kids did what she has done.

  19. JenFromSeattle Says:

My SIL is MKL’s stylist, so I get more of the ‘inside scoop’ than I care to hear at times. Sympathetic figure? It’s evident from the get-go that this woman is clearly not all there, and yet I get the impression she knows EXACTLY what she’s doing, especially in the way she’s turned her scandal into a money making venture for them both.

  20. Gregg Olsen Says:

So what’s the inside scoop, Jen?
