Caylee Anthony: Did They Find You?

Caylee_Marie_Anthony.jpgWe pray.

We hold our breath.

And now we wait to hear if the child’s body found in Orlando is the remains of Caylee Anthony, America’s little girl lost.

Here’s a snip:

ORLANDO, Fla. – The skeletal remains of a small child were found Thursday in woods less than a half-mile from the Orlando home of a missing 3-year-old girl, but officials could not immediately say whether they belonged to the toddler.

A utility worker found the body in the outlying middle-class suburb about 9:30 a.m., Orange County Sheriff’s spokesman Jim Solomons said. There was nothing that immediately indicated that the remains were the body of Caylee Anthony, he said.

Caylee’s mother, 22-year-old Casey Anthony, insists that she left the girl with a baby sitter in June, but did not report her missing until July. Anthony has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with her daughter’s death.

If the remains are Caylee’s, maybe Casey’s parents will stop their incessant media campaign for their daughter.

We hope.

But we don’t hold our breath on that one.

I have been following this story from the beginning. I have a few videos on my view of it on the youtube channel attached to this post.

I think that Casey is a Diane Downs 2. She never wanted the baby… tried to give it away when she was born and her mom wouldn’t let her. She held onto that resentment and continued to party even with the baby.

I think Tony Lazaro not wanting kids had a lot to play into this. She couldn’t party, Tony wouldn’t let Caylee stay at his place, and she and her mom had a hugeass fight.

The night before Caylee was killed Cindy and Casey had a HUGE fight where Cindy strangled Casey. Knowing how much Cindy loved Caylee, left the next day and killed Caylee to spite her mother and be able to have her party lifestyle without interruptions.

I think that her brother helped her get rid of the body or knows what happened and that is why he hasn’t been seen in 2 months. Her mother knows something happened but not necessarily everything. She doesn’t want to believe it is true. She’s gonna be blaming herself asking what she did wrong.

Cindy and George both know about dead body smell because he was in law enforcement and Cindy was a nurse. Notice Cindy does all the talking and George just sits there. He knows better than to say anything because they can be considered accessories after the fact.

If you watch George’s interviews with the fbi he admits he thought Caylee was dead. Why do you think he threw up at the thinking of the smell etc.

Cindy started spouting the same lies as Casey a week after her original 911 call. Notice in her interviews that the police will ask her a question and like Casey, they just let her talk and add more details onto the lies etc. I wouldn’t be surprised if Cindy wasn’t arrested due to the hairbrush incident etc.

The two people I feel the sorriest for in this is George and Caylee.

If you’d like to see more of what I’m talking about the link below has all of the interviews on it.

Peace and love guys! So happy you finally posted something! Please check your e-mail for a response from one of the 2 girls involved in your post regarding the girls putting eye drops in their teachers cup. She contacted me to give me the other side and I’d love for everyone to see it.

  2. FIFI Says:

I totally agree with you, and especially about Casey getting revenge on her mom!! As much as that woman covered for her daughter, washing her pants…etc,…that is so sad that that child would kill her daughter IN SPITE of her mother! but it happens!!
I DO hope that is Caylee’s body..I wish I could be the one to fry Casey! I thought she was the killer from the first!

  3. Tina Says:

It will be interesting to see if the remains are Caylee’s, but I’m not holding my breath. I absolutely despise Casey! Her attitude toward Caylee is sickening: no concern for her well being, no motherly love, and she just does not give a shit about her own little girl.

If my young son had ever gone missing, I wouldn’t be non chalant. I believe that Casey murdered Caylee in order to remove an obsticle from her life so that she can party and enter those hot body contests. It’s a shame that the death penalty was taken off the table. Casey should fry!

  4. Jeanne From NC Says:

her parents are now asking for full immunity. my ass. they shouldn’t do that if they know what is good for the case. They have admitted to lying etc. they should be brought up on charges.

  5. Fiz UK Says:

I hope they will be, Jeanne – admitting that they never gave the police Caylee’s actual hairbrush and lying and enabling their damned daughter to nearly get away with murder. It will be more than interesting to see how this proceeds through the courts. On another note, Happy Christmas guys and all Crimeranters!

  6. Jeanne From NC Says:

yeah the boys did give us a nice christmas gift eh?

Have you guys heard that the meter reader called the tip in 3 days in a row starting August 13 first? I want to believe there is nothing fishy about the find but the fact that he tried 3 times and then waited 3 more months to check again etc.

Casey made a comment during this that not even the clothes had been found. that is strange too. I hate hearing her saying “I feel she is close to us in my gut etc”.

I think the grandfather having the sheriff background made him not to want to know anything etc. because he would feel obligated to share it. I wonder if the sheriff that went and did check the area in august shrugged it off because of the family history.

anyone else heard our favorite police officer is engaged again? don’t know where his 4th wife is and his 3rd whife is considered murdered yet he’s allowed to start the cycle again.

  7. Compassrose Says:

I may eat these words, but I don’t think the meter reader has any thing to do with this except detecting an odor and finding her remains. If this has captured our attention, why wouldn’t a person in the mist of it all be equally curious. People have driven hundreds of miles to search for Caylee, and if anyone knows the lay of the land, I would think a meter reader would. If he detected an odor back in August, I bet it has bugged him ever since that the area has not been searched as diligently as it should.

If it was the meter guy, why would Casey make up so many stupid and obvious lies? Why not just say Caylee was missing and start a search — but no she claims she is doing her own investigation while partying all night. This entire case has been filled with bizarre and dysfunctional behaviors from the entire family. And now I fear we are moving to phase two of this tragic story. This is not going to get any less strange or manipulative.

  8. Dayle Says:

I agree, Compassrose. How quick we are to put a man on trial when he was obviously so adamant about what he believed to be evidence that he called three days in a row. While The Smoking Gun has shown us that criminals are notoriously lacking in brainpower, I have a hard time believing someone guilty of a crime would try so hard in August to be “caught” then again in December. I do hope we learn what he was reporting back in August, but that will come out when their investigation of the follow-up of those tips concludes.

While not exactly unexpected, I did wish for a better ending for Caylee.

  9. Michelle Says:

I don’t think Casey killed Caylee her on purpose, and if there is duct tape on the child’s mouth, my belief is that she put it there after she was already dead.

I also think people really need back off, STFU, and leave Cindy and George alone.

  10. Fiz UK Says:

    It is Caylee! Fiat justitia…

  11. Jeanne From NC Says:

woah I wasn’t saying he hadn’t anything to do with it other than possibly being directed to the spot is what was thrown around last night when it came out that he had tried for 3 days to get the law enforcements attention and then 4 months later out of the blue went back and tried again. Just sounded kinda fishy.

Michelle have you seen who has been called in about this case as an “expert”? I laugh anytime I see it occur.

Anyone else catch the medical examiner? I didn’t until this news conference. It’s Dr. G medical examiner from tv! lord, talk about more famous faces ending up on this case!

Cindy isn’t so innocent. I would love to know what Lee has been up to and why out of the scene completely until last weekend when he was picking up the make shift memorial in front of the house and throwing it away. I think he’s been off away because he knows what happened too.

We shall see. As I said I feel the sorriest for George and Caylee. RIP Caylee Marie Anthony.

  12. Tina Says:

I think that Cindy, George, and Lee were all covering for Casey. Shame on them! Though, I agree that they should be left alone to grieve their loss. I knew that Casey had murdered Caylee from the get go. Casey Anthony joins the ranks of other infamous killer moms such as Diane Downs, Susan Smith and Darlie Routier.

    RIP little Caylee!

  13. Michelle Says:

“Michelle have you seen who has been called in about this case as an “expert”? I laugh anytime I see it occur.”

I make a point of missing Nancy Grace and her ilk. However, by chance I did catch my #1 fan on some murdertainment show the day Caylee’s body was discovered. I laughed at her. She Looked to me like she spent her Fall vacation wrestling with the other end of a cosmetic surgeons scalpel… and that she sprung for a new wig.

Regarding Lee removing the memorial: GOOD FOR HIM!!! I would do exactly the same thing! Who in the hell do people think that they are? That baby’s DNA wasn’t even back, yet here are people who take it upon themselves to shove THEIR BELIEF in this family’s face? Why can’t people mind their own damn business and just leave these people alone?! Who died and gave ANY of these people, including the media, the right to torment this family FOR MONTHS and FORCE them to change their belief system. Screw the public. Caylee is not THEIR baby! She is NOT “America’s little girl.” She is the Anthony’s little girl. As far as I’m concerned the memorial was a gross intrusion; as is the constant pictures released by the media of this child. Those are moments with THEIR baby and quite frankly, they are none of the public’s business.

  14. Michelle Says:

I want to make sure that Gregg doesn’t think I directed my remark about Caylee not being America’s little girl towards what he wrote, I didn’t even notice the reference in his post until just now.

  15. FIFI Says:

GEE…I WONDER where the MEDIA GOT the films of little Caylee??? Did they film her singing “You are my Sunshine”, and kissing ‘Papa’ while on his lap?? Hummmm…maybe those came from…..wait for it…..the GRANDPARENTS!! I don’t know…I guess the MEDIA COULD have made those videos and all the pictures that are plastered all over the news!!But I DON’T THINK SO!

  16. Michelle Says:

Believe it or not Fifi not everything you see on TV is as it looks. There are people who know the Anthony’s that have been passing info to the media for their 15-minutes of fame. There is a friend and neighbor of Cindy Anthony who belongs to a crime forum, and so that she can be Big Girl on Campus told that group that in an alleged conversation with “her friend, Cindy,” Cindy shared with her the evidence the police removed from her house – then she detailed for the group what it was.

There are all kinds of assholes who are selling information to the media behind the Anthony’s backs. There are a lot of people trying to get money and fame by crawling all over this famly like rabid animals.

Who does anyone think that they are, that they have the unmitigated right to torture this family on a daily basis and talk endless shit about them, simply based on what talking heads are saying on TV and what a bunch of bloviating nobodies opine in Internet crime forums? What, none of these people have anyone they can torment in their own lives and on their own turf?

I think Cindy and George, and yes, even Lee, have been unfairly castigated and it’s been encouraged by that bloviating wind bag Nancy Grace, and her ilk.

Shows like Nancy Grace haven’t killed true crime. It’s not the show that is to blame for the supposed demise of good true crime books by viciously raping these stories night after night for the viewing audience. It’s the viewers that continue to tune into this kind of crap that have stomped the genre into the ground. Obviously the intelligence of the public is on a downturn. No one wants truth and facts. What the true crime audience apparently wants is sensationalism, and if some disingenuous bleached blonde with an attitude problem can make the victim family out to be complete tards from Hell, so much better for the ratings and bottom line.

Let’s face it folks. Nancy Grace is not a news program. Nancy Grace is entertainment.

Yes, I know, she was a prosecutor. Big deal, who cares? She apparently gave up her prosecutorial career for a more lucrative one as a television talking head, where her job entails sensationalizing information reported by *real* journalists on *real* assignments for *real* news organizations. Don’t kid yourself into thinking that this show is in any way a representation of a paragon of journalistic virtue. The powers that be, the ones who pay the salaries, they don’t actually give one hoot in Hades as to anything other than their ratings and bottom line. The Nancy Grace show and all of its knockoffs are there to entertain you. That is it. These shows serve as nothing other than entertainment for crime obsessed individuals. And if the video footage of the protests that have taken place in front of the Anthony home is an adequate representation of that particular viewing audience, some of these particular *crime obsessed* viewers are raving lunatics!

The viewing audience knows these types of shows are sensationalistic and that probably at least 80% of the true crime pundits on them are full of shit, have no background or education in what they pontificate about – much like the majority of the Internet true crime bloggers – but the viewing audience apparently doesn’t care. The true crime viewers of these types of shows want to be entertained. If that entertainment comes from someone who has completely made up their background no one cares. It’s all murdertainment!

The sensationalism produced by these shows make true stories of crime, the suffering of the victims and their families, appear as little more than one more episode of CSI. Many of the members of the forums on the Net that obsess over crime stories treat the victims and their families as such, like their real life game of CLUE. And most show very little if any respect for the actual criminal investigations going on, although they believe otherwise and fancy themselves to be saviors of the traumatized. The truth is that their only concern is to play armchair detective, pseudo-psychologist, or criminal profiler.

Nancy Grace is a completely disgusting example of what the true crime obsessed audience wants; a vulture in a $500 dress.

As far as I’m concerned Casey Anthony can’t even get a fair trial because there isn’t any place in this country that has not heard her name. Her case has already been tried in the media, on message boards and on web sites. Friends and neighbors of the Anthony’s are found on message boards giving away secrets, some include alleged secrets of the investigation. This is NOT what justice is about; making a fair trial near impossible due to the obsession of people who really have no business involving themselves in this case.

I’m not even an attorney and I could argue reasonable doubt in this case. Being a compulsive and pathological liar does not make one a killer, and there are plenty of successful people who are sociopaths. There’s plenty to play with in this case to create a reasonable doubt by a charismatic shark of an attorney.

However, as I said, I don’t believe she can get a fair trial anywhere in the country. Like other trials where jurors lie and go in with an agenda, this case won’t be any different. However, I do see a slim chance that she could walk out of that jail with a Not Guilty verdict as a result of the public intrusion into the case.

Not everything said about this family is true, nor is it anyone’s business! And there is so much of what is said on these murdertainment shows that have absolutely no bearing whatsoever on the topic at hand. These people are paid to say nothing; just to talk in order to hear themselves talk and fill up air time. The entire broadcast of these shows is little more than a contest where they all try to top each other. It’s repulsive.

No one knows what these people are going through. They are not celebrities, however, the media made them into celebs by parking their cameras in their face every minute of every day. How would you react? I would be totally set off of my feet. What exactly does everyone expect from them? I wouldn’t want throngs of reporters and complete strangers talking endless shit about my family either, regardless.

There is a plethora of vengeful and hateful remarks that have spewed across the Internet and airwaves directed at this family. Yet with all that has been said, I have been hard pressed to see anyone actually address the most logical reason for their behavior, and apparent unwavering support of Casey and her story of Zanny the Nanny.

Maybe, just maybe Cindy and George could have gotten the truth out of Casey about what happened to Caylee, HAD THEY NOT HAD THE FUCKING MEDIA AND A BUNCH OF OBSESSED NUTBAGS IN THEIR FACE 24/7 REPORTING ON THEIR EVERY MOVE! When Cindy blamed the media for not finding Caylee I personally don’t think she was far from the truth.

Think about this for a minute: every single move that these people make is recorded. They can’t belch over dinner without a sound file making its way onto Nancy Grace or Greta and some wannabe know-it-all talking head–say, maybe a wannabe-famous counterfeit criminal profiler who appears to have spent her fall / winter vacation procuring a new wig while playing Russian roulette at the opposite end of a cosmetic surgeon’s scalpel–opining as to what the varying decibel levels of the gas being emitted from this particular burping Anthony indicates regarding their personal knowledge of the disappearance of Caylee.

And, of course, on top of having every Anthony family member’s move recorded, we all know that Casey most certainly isn’t seeing any TV while she’s been on her little holiday. Local television doesn’t broadcast at the county hoosegow, right? Certainly there wouldn’t be a single soul there with her that would be willing to provide her with a blow by blow accounting of every single word and action broadcast across the airwaves by her loving and equally supportive family —complete with transcripts in triplicate—ensuring that Casey was never in the dark about anything said.

I am wondering what those who castigate the Anthonys have expected. Should Cindy and George have given Casey an ultimatum; called her a dirty, rotten, thieving bitch and then demand that she tell them where their granddaughter is, or else?

Would this quench the thirst of the seething masses?

Perhaps the parasitic hunger would be quelled if the Anthonys invited Nancy Grace down to the jail—with Leonard Padilla in tow, kicking and screaming of course–and filmed the entire vitriolic induced event live for those viewers at home who think that watching a bleached blonde, D-grade actress pretending to feign compassion and concern is a roaring good time?

I wonder what Casey’s parents could have possibly threatened their adult daughter with or held over her head while cameras rolled that would be powerful enough to wrench information from her lips that the public–translate: a bunch of strangers—have so incessantly demanded? Screw the police investigation, it’s the public that demands the answers, and obviously feel that they are more than entitled to every single detail in this case.

Why does the public feel a sense of entitlement in this case? I really haven’t got a clue. But I think that the public obsession is directly proportinate to the level at which these murdertainment TV shows shove into their face. Brainwashing, nothing more; the public *thihks* they want it because they are being told that they do by having it rammed down their throat night after night, month after month.

I live for the day that Nancy Grace and her ilk go down in flames and everyone realizes what abject crap these shows are.

  17. Jeanne From NC Says:

What kills me is hearing Padilla down at the scene posing for pictures and signing autographs! WTF?

The police department played to the public attention. They did the major arrest during the NG show (which padilla said he had heard was going to happen from an inside source), the crime scene tape was done in dramatic fashion during her show etc.

One thing you can admit is because she worked so doggedly night after night on this it kept it on peoples minds and made that guy think to go back and check. I think had the lawsuit not come up with Trenton Ducketts family he’d be found now too.

BTW she didn’t give up her prosecutor spot… she lost her license. I hate how abrasive she is.

I thought that she was going too far with the Jennifer Hudson case after the bodies were all found and the person was under arrest. I think at that point it is the publics time to back off and let the law take over and do their job.

The public was so intrigued because of how much the mother lied, how much coverage it got, etc. I don’t think she’ll ever get a fair trial either.

As far as I am concerned now that they have id’d her NG need to back off but you know she won’t. There are other cases she talked about in the last 6 months that have had huge updates that she has ignored.

The woman murdered near me in Cary, NC… her husband has been arrested for it. I am floored because I so didn’t see that coming. If someone is looking for a case to write on that is one. The authorities kept EVERYTHING tight lipped and close to the chest. Not sure what the motive etc. was. I’d love to be in there for the trial and may try.

There was a pregnant woman that was murdered and found by her sister while her toddler was walking through her blood. The husband had been “out of town” and asked the sister to go check for a fax at the house he didn’t want his wife to see. That is just sadistic to send her to find her sister etc. He has been arrested finally and I think already found guilty.

I talk about big cases on youtube all the time that nancy touches on but then brushes over for Casey Anthony.

  18. Michelle Says:

“One thing you can admit is because she worked so doggedly night after night on this it kept it on peoples minds and made that guy think to go back and check.”

No. I can’t admit that. In fact, I totally disagree.

Next, Leonard Padilla is a jackass. Padilla’s ONLY interest in this case is publicity. The man was WITNESSED stating to Tim Miller, “Tim, don’t you want to be photographed holding Caylee’s skull in your hands?” How appalling!

By the way, Padilla had a little issue with donations being collected for Texas EquuSearch, that were allegedly being deposited in his own account. When Tim Miller asked Nancy Grace and the Orlando Sentinel to do a story on the usurped donations not only did Nancy’s producer refuse, so did the Sentinel and one other paper present at the meeting. Nancy Gracce’s producer is on tape stating that they are aware of Padilla’s antics and background; however, he is good for rating and revenue so they will not pull him from the show. The newspapers present at this meeting concurred; they would not do the story either. It’s not about truth for Nancy Grace and the shows like it, it’s about rating and which guest is the most volatile and can create the most reaction from the viewing audience.

Here’s a story out of Florida that Nancy SHOULD have been reporting on. Someone should have been reporting on it. I guess these children weren’t important enough, however; probably not good for the bottom line, not being upper middle class white girls and all. Read this and then try and tell me that Nancy Grace is a Saint for her dogged pursuit of the Anthony story.

    http://cbs4.com/local/Tammy.Kongham.Kidnapping.2.885801.html

    http://www.justnews.com/news/18254750/detail.html?rss=mia&psp=news

“I think had the lawsuit not come up with Trenton Ducketts family he’d be found now too.”

There has been far too much public intrusion in the Duckett case. This child will never be found because of it.

When LE should have been focusing on leads generated from police work they were busy going on wild goose chases based on “tips” by a “well meaning” public, many of which spend the entire day sitting their little happy asses in true crime chat forums; feeding each other’s delusions with their “sluething.”

I suppose when Murt, aka: Willaim Murtaugh told Josh Duckett that he was a US Marshall and knew where his child was he was just “helping.” This is the kind of activity that these true crime forum posters participate in. They think that they are superior in intelligence and know more about investigating crime than the police do. They decide to use someone else’s trauma to play games. THIS kind of activity is why some of these cases will never be solved, at least in my opinion.

By the way, Murt is back; he’s been intruding on the Anthony case this time. He’s a real creep and should be put down like the dog that he is.

It is impossible for many of these busy bodies to mind their own business, let alone comprehend they are doing harm. Sometimes I think that these people just don’t care how their actions affect the real victims and the families in these cases.

It would not break my heart in the least if most of these true crime forums – such as WebSleuths, the dredge of the Internet true crime community – were booted off of the Net for all eternity. Of all the times I’ve been called a hacker by people, I truly wish I was one; my mission in life would be to remove these types of sleuthing assholes and their forums from the Net permanently.

  19. Compassrose Says:

For me, the first disturbing element of this case was that fatal month that Caylee was missing and no one knew except Casey. It seems no one was the least bit interested in where she was or what was happening to her. That will forever bother me. Casey was out partying, and Cindy and George too easily trusted their daughter and believed her lies. Casey had never truly held a job, but she was suddenly gainfully employed and had even hired a nanny. Did they ever question that or how she had pulled that off? How did they believe these lies after all the lies she had told in her life? What huge leap of faith. Then, when the car is found, Casey begins her series of outlandish and disturbing lies while all the time her baby girl’s remains where a short distance from her home, and her family defended her every action.

I don’t know what I would do, but I hope I would accept my family is dysfunctional, and that I would do whatever it takes to get to the truth. I know the Anthony’s are suffering and that is tragic, but their grief is truthfully just beginning. This is not going to get any easier, and when the “dream team” starts spinning the facts and feeding their own lies, the trauma will be multiplied.

I wonder how diffent this case would be if they had found Caylee’s body back in June or July before the car was found? Could Casey have manipulated the information and denied the facts if Caylee had been found first?

  20. Michelle Says:

No one can understand what it is like to have a child that is a compulsive, pathological liar with sociopathic tendencies, unless you have birthed one yourself. You really do have to be there to truly understand what it is like to raise a child with this personality type. And contrary to the warm fuzzy belief that these personalities are created by the parents, that couldn’t be farther from the truth. These children truly come into the world like this, not all personalities like this are created due to the parents.

Personally, if the situation was reversed everyone would hate my guts, too. Because I don’t think I would be much different in front of the constant cameras and public intrusion than ANY of the Anthony’s have been. In fact, I’d probably be arrested live on TV after I beat the hell out of some loud mouth who felt that they had the right to be an asshole and berate me and my family on my front lawn.

Has the family made poor choices in this investigation? Probably. Did they make a poor choice in believing their daughter; in wanting to believe their daughter? Maybe. However, in their position, I believe I would truly do the same thing. Having a child who lies and steals from you is one thing; however, it is another thing entirely to be able to come to a realization that your child killed their own. By the grace of God is all I can say.

On a side note: Matt dropped by ICB the other day to let everyone know what he’s been working on.

  21. Tina Says:

Congrats Matt on your latest crime books and successes! I look forward to reading your latest books. Keep em coming.

  22. Jeanne From NC Says:

I couldn’t believe how Baez was slamming the police because an amber alert had never been done. He obviously doesn’t understand how that works. It works best within hours of the child going missing not a month later when your client decides to admit she is missing.

Casey said she felt Caylee was close to home and she wasn’t lying. the one thing from Padilla I got out that is showing true is that if you listen to Casey there is a tiny kernel of truth in what she says. You just have to look through the bull.

  23. Nancy Says:

I just found this site from David Lohr’s site.
I have read all of the comments on this subject and cannot believe the poster by the name of Michelle. WOW!
She is so redundit in all of her postings when all she had to write is basically mind your own business and dont judge others instead of being a hypocrit and judging others that do not feel the way she does about this case.
She is also slamming NG and other media outlets that the Anythonys welcomed into their lives or we wouldnt even know who Caylee Anthony was.
THE FAMILY INVITED us into this and now don’t like it when it is not to their liking.
No need to go on anymore besides it sounds like Michelle needs to get a life if she is so against blogs such as this one. (no different than any of the others) YOu don’t have to read our comments or go to the sites where it is.
Turn off the computer and the TV and enjoy your peace of mind knowing that you dont have a sociopath daughter ( I happen to have a daughter in law JUST like Casey) and I hope before something like this happens, I will take note and hoperfully make sure that my grandaughter is okay.
I worry every day how my grandaughter is doing.
she isn’t even a year old yet and I am hoping the laws change with these mothers that are like Casey as they are adults but their children are in danger. It is not fun at all.

It really sounds like you need to quit judging others or keep it to yourself.

  24. Michelle Says:

Sounds like you are the one doing the judging there Nancy. You are clearly judging me, and you are making judgments on how I feel about Crime Rant. For your information, dear, they are friends. Very dear friends. Not only that, they have always had a respectable presence on the Net and in their books when they tell these stories.

You are also making judgments on my family. You know nothing about me or my family or the problems that anyone in my family may or may not have. In fact, you have no idea how big of an idiot you just made yourself out to be to those who know me personally by throwing out a judgment call regarding my family. For your information, I have someone close to me that is very much like Casey. In addition I am raising my own granddaughter. So how about you kiss my butt and STFU.

If anyone is redundant and opinionated without having anything to substantiate their remarks or assumptions that award goes directly to you, my dear. Look at all of the ASSumptions you made about me, when all I did was give my opinion on the vultures circling this case. What’s the matter, did I hit too close to home for you?

I am so proud to live in the United States of America where the 1st Amendment allows me to speak freely, regardless of the ignorant insults that come from the illiterate and uneducated. Silence is not golden, Nancy. It is the corner stone of a free society. So I will continue to watch, read and listen to abject crap at my leisure and then critique it at will.

    Have a nice day.

  25. Michelle Says:

By the way, Nancy, it will probably also throw you into a tizzy to know that not only do I dislike Nancy Grace, I also think Ann Rule is overrated.

  26. FIFI Says:

THAT’S NOT FAIR…WHAT’S SHE EVER DONE TO YOU?

  27. cheryllynn Says:

This case has brought out more of the crazies than any other I have followed. I do admit to being fascinated with true crime stories, but I guess I fall short in that I would never inject or insinuate myself into an active investigation as so many have in this case.(front lawn protesters, that dredge of humanity Murt, Leonard Padilla, etc.)

I agree with Michelle in this as far as the Anthony family goes. These people loved their grandchild. No doubt about that. They probably took more pictures of her in her first 2 1/2 years of life than I took of all 4 of my children in their first several years. Why do people feel the need to dissect this family? Why the hatred toward George and Cindy? People say “if that were me, I’d do such and such.” Oh really? How do you know? I have a family member who follows this case, and she poo-poos the Anthonys every chance she gets, yet she has two drug addict sons who have no jobs, they steal whatever they can get their hands on, and she continues to make excuses for them.

And the “Caylee worship” is what gets me the most. “America’s angel” “Our angel” “Our shining star”. Give me a break. This little baby was killed, likely by her mother, but it doesn’t make her a saint. She’s just a poor little dead baby. Like the hundreds each year who’s lives are taken by parents or other caretakers. Yes, I believe she is with God, as I believe ALL of them are. But I don’t believe she is “leading and guiding” us, or LE or anyone else.

I don’t even know that we know all of the evidence in this case. There has been too much speculation and too many conflicting reports at this time.

  28. cheryllynn Says:

spelling correction “dreg of humanity”. I guess I had “dredging” on my mind!

  29. Soobs Says:

Michelle -”Who does anyone think that they are, that they have the unmitigated right to torture this family on a daily basis and talk endless shit about them, simply based on what talking heads are saying on TV and what a bunch of bloviating nobodies opine in Internet crime forums? What, none of these people have anyone they can torment in their own lives and on their own turf? ”

Bless you, my friend. Seriously, the people online who “claim to KNOW” all the crap they spew about the Anthonys really irk me (and that’s an understatement.) I think the people who stalk the Anthonys outside their home, who leave memorials every place Caylee could have possibly been seen (and who are reported to be UPSET that the Anthonys are donating those toys/stuffed animals to underpriveleged kids for Christmas!)…well, they are the ones with personality disorders.

  30. Soobs Says:

Jeanne – “There was a pregnant woman that was murdered and found by her sister while her toddler was walking through her blood. The husband had been “out of town” and asked the sister to go check for a fax at the house he didn’t want his wife to see. That is just sadistic to send her to find her sister etc. He has been arrested finally and I think already found guilty.”

Michelle Young’s husband has NOT been arrested, and hence, not found guily.

  31. Sophie Says:

I disagree. Up until now the Anthony’s wanted to use the media to further their cause of finding Caylee alive due to all the “tips they were receiving” about Caylee sightings. They turned over all the pics and videos to authorities at the beginning of the search in order to help find her – before we knew that something “hinky” was going on. After it was obvious to the public that their daughter is a pathalogical liar, they don’t like the media anymore. Too bad! They will continue to do as they have always done – pick up the pieces after Casey wreaks havoc can cannot deal with the aftermath of her actions. George and Cindy ought to be ashamed of themselves.

  32. Michelle Says:

I found out today that the Anthony’s new attorney has been getting inundated with cards and letters about those who have been evoking Caylee’s name in order to fill their own bank accounts. And those cards and letters contain more than just empty allegations; they contain proof of the allegations. SWEET!!!

Guess who has their name at the top of the list? Murt, and Tricia from WebSluts (oops, I mean WebSleuths). Hey, they always wanted to be popular. Right?

Yes Virginia, there is retribution for using Caylee’s name to fund your own bank accounts. I hope Cindy Anthony chews you two up into tiny little pieces and then picks her teeth with your bones!!

The only thing that would make this sweeter is if the Anthony attorney could permanently shut you down and remove the likes of the two of from the Net entirely. So that neither of you EVER have the opportunity to victimize another suffering family again!

You both have sealed your fate with this case. May you enjoy your downward spiral as much as I will enjoy watching your epic fall.

  33. FIFI Says:

I THINK I see why Matt and Gregg quit this blog-thingy!

  34. Compassrose Says:

Fifi — so true, so true.

  35. Jeanne From NC Says:

It actually was never bad so quickly. Please take a step back people and breathe before you post. The boys could yank the site at a moments notice. Don’t take for granted their niceness to post a fresh subject for us.

  36. Michelle Says:

Do you realize that the majority of people that “hang out” on these blogs and in chatrooms are into it for the drama? They don’t care about the cases; it’s all about the drama. There is so much drama in tc on the Net that it is sick. When individuals take advantage of cases for fame and $$ it’s worse. The reason that I mention Murt, Tricia and WebSlueths is because it will show up in a Google search. People will read what is written and maybe do a little of their own research. Then maybe they’ll come across things like Murt’s copy and pasted chat where he talks about wanting to rape and murder little children. Frankly, having innocent people stumble on the truth is more important to me that whether or not a bunch of obsessed true crime groupies like me or not, let alone approve of what I say. My friends respect me for my honesty, integrity and willingness to voice my views regardless of whether I am the only one standing there with the intestinal fortitude to speak up or not. I won’t cower simply because someone thinks I’m raining on their little parade.

I find it interesting that in the last few years that I have known Matt and Gregg not once have they taken issue with me personally based on my opinions. The only ones who have are their readers, and I couldn’t care less what you all think.

For those who are still lost in the land of denial; this site was already yanked. Matt and Gregg are not coming back to post at Crime Rant daily and only post on occasion as a courtesy. Don’t delude yourselves. Do you REALLY think that Gregg Olsen is going to renew this domain name and pay for it all over again when they have no interest in blogging? I highly doubt it, and I highly doubt that they will ever blog in this manner again.

Blogging is a complete waste of time for authors, especially authors who are at the level in their careers that Matt and Gregg are. People who read blogs generally do not buy books, they surf the Net for short shots of information; they want a place to give their opinions, they want to be know-it-alls, they want to be able to tell people what they can and cannot say, they want to force their belief system onto others, they want to be armchair detectives, but for the most part blog readers DO NOT BUY BOOKS – they don’t’ even borrow them from the library.

In order for a blog to be worthwhile for an author they would need to generate several hundred thousand hits a day. Basically, the site would have to have a viewing audience that rivals and supersedes that of Crime Library. These men are not in the business to sit and entertain you daily on their blog simply because YOU choose to live your life on the Net. Writing books is their JOB; blogging is bullshit. It is a complete waste of time for them. In fact, it is such a waste of time for an author to blog even Corey Mitchell has backed away from it, and his blog has a viewership of over 360.000 hits JUST from Reuters and Chicago Sun Times syndications ALONE!

The reason that I voice my opinion here is because I can, and because it is a safe place for me to do so. So what if I have an unpopular opinion and put it on Crime Rant? So what if I want to write it here. So what if I take 10 paragraphs to say what I have to say? Matt and Gregg are my friends. Not superficial friends like many of the relationships you all have with your little “Net” pals; they are my real friends in real life; real friendships with real compassion, love and respect. Just because you may not like me or have any respect for what I say doesn’t mean that they feel the same way you do. You all seem to think you can speak for them and decide what is okay to say, and who is approved to say it. I know that neither Matt nor Gregg has had any issue at all with me, let alone putting my opinions on this site when I feel so moved. None at all. The only issue anyone has ever had with me writing in Crime Rant comments has come from you readers, and quite frankly, I couldn’t give a rat’s ass what any of you think.

I don’t feel compelled to hang out in the crime forums or on the blogs. In fact, I don’t like most of the other crime bloggers because I don’t like or respect people who use the top crime stories in order to generate revenue from Ad Sense or try to gain their 15-mintues of fame; and don’t even get me started on the bloggers who beg for donations or new computers at Christmas. Blogging is a hobby and if someone is trying to make money from it by using crime stories they are nothing more than lazy good for nothings who don’t want to have to get off of their worthless trailer trash butt and work for a living.

Now, I know that a few readers enjoy kissing the ass of authors because it makes them feel special and popular (pseudo-celeb obsessed wing-nuts). Some of these authors are friends of Matt and Gregg. So, I can’t help but wonder if one of them happened to post an opinion on Crime Rant that you didn’t like, would you refrain from being contrary to that poster simply because they were a friend of the author(s) you covet? Or would it be open season on them too? Just as it is with any other commenter who writes something you all don’t like. Would the finger wagging come out amidst cries of “you’re going to get crime rant pulled,” or would you mind your keyboards and fingertips because you would never dare be so bold to try and silence the opinion of one of their *published* friends?

Crime Rant is gone in this form and function. Deal with it and move on.

  37. Jeanne From NC Says:

just an fyi if I don’t agree with what someone posts no matter who they are I’ll voice it. I think that was proven when I posted Ann Rule’s e-mail to me that talked badly of her readers to let them know what she really thought on my blog.

I was excited when I saw they had posted something and even posted a bulletin on myspace to let others know.

I know they have written this place off basically. While sad, I have moved on and just happened to jump to the site one day when I was bored and noticed the new post.

Anyone with a problem with what I post my mail is open. Hell I even had one of the girls that had been the subject of one of the articles here contact me a few weeks ago to give her side of the story. That story had been posted a year ago.

I have moved on from this place, Ann Rule, etc. I have found what makes me happy and ran with it. Hopefully others that may not be so happy will find what makes them happy and be able to move on as well. If you aren’t happy with what is posted why bother coming back, let alone typing a response? I ask that of people that h8 on my youtube videos. All I have to say is thank god for the delete key on youtube as far as responses go.

Good luck to all in the coming new year! Gregg and Matt I wish you most the best in the future with your books.

    Peace and love,
    Jeanne

  38. Compassrose Says:

Good luck to Matt and Gregg and their careers.

Good luck to Cindy and George Anthony. Their situation is not going to get easier.

Michelle, I have always admired your honesty.

Truthfully, I have no idea how any blog manages their affairs. (Websleuths, etc.)

I can see where any blog could empower random people, such as myself, to feel smarter, more informed, more involved, more included, and consequently make them more assertive than they are entitled to feel. I guess this it is the time to move on and find a new outlet for burning up time at the end of the day. I do know some authors that write good books. ;)

  39. Michelle Says:

Compass, you know I like you. You have never been insincere in what you express. You are one of the few that actually care. You don’t follow cases in order to try and involve yourself in them personally. I have never known you to make an attempt to contact anyone directly tied to a crime case, let alone consider the thought in order to fulfill your own need for attention. You are just not built that way, and it shows.

Compass, you are a good soul. And you have certainly never tried to silence someone because you don’t like what they say, or how they say it. You have never stamped your feet, threatened to take your toys and go home, and acted like you were personally victimized by an unpopular opinion. You are one of the few that address the subject matter, rather than go after the poster personally; YOU actually want to debate the issue. You are smarter than the average true crime blog reader, I think.

I don’t think that there is anything wrong in looking for a sense of community. However, the true crime community is dysfunctional and unhealthy on its best day. I honestly believe that the majority of the people who hang out in these crime forums and whatnot are NOT good people at heart. I truly believe that. And that belief is completely based on what I have witnessed come from the same forums over, and over, and over. I’ve watched as far too many people have been victimized by these so called “angels.” I dislike the majority of crime blogs and forums for good reason.

  40. Fiz UK Says:

I would agree with you there, Michelle. I’m picky about who I read on the Net and I was warned about certain chat rooms and that there were real lunatics on some sites before I ever went onto crime sites.

  41. Jeanne From NC Says:

this is/was the only crime website I really looked at other than one on myspace which has basically died as well in over 2 years.

I have to agree on the lunatics on TC sites. I know of quite a few and it can get scary. Some become so obsessed it almost becomes stalkerish. I have even had some of those type of people follow me from site to site continuing their rude and sad attempts to bring me down.

These days I ignore those who try and stir things up. takes less energy that way. If you are true to yourself you are truly happy and nothing anyone types will bother you. I think of it as just text since I don’t know the majority of people offline.

my attempt above was to try and at least get people not to take for granted the boys had posted another post. They didn’t have to post it, just like the people trying to start stuff didn’t have to read it let alone respond to it. To each his own choice. Everyone has the right to their own opinion and a right to have one, just not the right to shove it down others throats like has happened typically on TC sites.

Happy new year to all. Make it a good one!

  42. Michelle Says:

What are you talking about, Jeanne? No one has tried to *start* anything and I don’t see anyone shoving anything down anybodies throat. How about you spit it out and say exactly what you mean instead of pussyfooting around with the passive aggressive remarks. I see a lot of open ended allegations but I see nothing where you actually point towards what you are talking about. How about some specifics?! And what is with your assumption that people are unhappy? You are making this judgment call based on what, exactly?

  43. Michelle Says:

I too was happy to see a post up at crime rant. I also miss the site. However, I am a realist.

I enjoy voicing my opinion just as much as the next person. However, I have found that my right to voice an unpopular opinion is rarely respected out here in the true crime interwebs. Instead, the retort is more along the lines that I should not say a word unless I plan on following the party line.

I like this site because I trust Matt and Gregg. I am comfortable expressing my point of view here. I also know that they have more than demonstrated that they value the 1st Amendment, regardless of whether they agree with everything that people have to say or not. I really could never even imagine them telling someone that they used too many words to express their thoughts, or that they weren’t entitled to express their point of view simply because they didn’t agree with it.

One of the reasons that I was pleased to see the post is because I have had a fairly empathetic viewpoint towards the Anthony family and I know that viewpoint is not welcomed ANYWHERE. Having crime rant throw up a post made me feel comfortable enough to voice my opinion. But as usual, when it’s not what others want to hear…

What irritates me is that there is never any attempt to debate my point of view; only varying attempts shut it down or to throw out little digs.

Look at this post and what Nancy had to say. In a nutshell, since my opinion wasn’t on her approved list I used too many words to express it. And of course, since I had an opinion that wasn’t shared by her I was obviously a lesser human, as is evident by her assessment of me personally, rather than the specifics of what I said.

Then we have the usual standby of “if you don’t like it you don’t have to read it,” and other similar phrasing. This type of argument is just plain infantile and can’t even stand on its own merit. I’m sure back in the day of slave ownership those that were opposed spoke out against it, and those who thought it was a good idea retorted with, “Well, if you don’t like slavery then don’t buy one.” Like I said, it’s an infantile type of argument that can’t stand under its own weight.

  44. Jeanne From NC Says:

I initially was referring to things starting up when Fifi said she could see why Matt and Gregg didn’t want to deal with this place anymore. Perhaps I read that the wrong way.

I wasn’t being passive aggressive as none of what I said was pointed at anyone currently posting. I was agreeing that there are crazies out there.

As for the unhappy part it is a vibe that comes off posts. I’m not assuming anything about anyone.

I -think- that clarifies everything. I hope. I apologize if anyone was offended.

  45. Sibby Says:

Michelle, I have always liked reading your posts. They usually provoke thought, and I have always been one to agree to disagree with anyone. Never did care for anyone shoving thoughts down anyone’s throats.

If it comes out that the Anthony’s are covering for their daughter, I may not agree with them doing that, but certainly understand it as a parent. I have no doubt they loved Caylee beyond reason. Whatever the truth is, it will come out and they will deal with it. I certainly don’t need a front row seat to it all.

  46. Compassrose Says:

Dang, Michelle, that was very kind of you to say. Truthfully, I have no idea why anyone would want to contact a family involved in such a deep trauma unless they can offer some useful support. It has to be difficult enough to endure tragic events without trying to sort out the true friend from the merely curious wanting to get some private detail to gloat over. I have made financial contirubutions to families. Not sure how that fits on the the family contact rubric.

As for the culture of TC blogs, I have been around long enough to have seem more than a few explode, implode, or just go dormant to know most blogs have a limited life expediency. Matt and Gregg gave Crimerant a very good run, and I truly appreciate that. But even as just a reader, it is sometimes very overwhelming to spend too much time contemplating the horrible things people do to one another in this world. It is like looking too long at a bright light — it can distort your vision and blind you to the good that does exist.

One thing I do know from reading any TC, and I do mean know, is that evil too often exists in this world because of the passive inactivity of too many. People that turn a blind eye to what it happening, or don’t want to get involved, or are too afraid to speak up. That is what will always break my heart is the lost opportunities to have changed the fate of so many, especially children.

Now having said all that, to the end of my days I will never be able to set aside the fate of little Dylan Groene. I know it is not normal and is a very narrow focus. He was not alone in his fate, but there is something about his tragic loss that made me aware there is much we don’t know about the ways of the world, the deep fallacies of our system, the false security we often feel from nobleminded but weak or pointless laws, and the absolute evil that coexist in this world waiting to claim an innocent life.

I agree with Sibby, I don’t think we need a front row seat to the continued Anthony tragedy. But like some evil released from Pandora’s Box, I don’t think the bloodsuckers making a living off of this child’s tragic death are going to suddenly grow a heart and let the LE and courts handle this case with what dignity they can manage.
