Bobby: Please Cutt Out the BS, Would You!
Watching Bobby Cutts cry in court the other day was like listening to a rich man grumble about being broke, or golfer John Daley complain about losing millions in Las Vegas.
That kind of argument, in other words, just won’t Cutt it, Bobby, with honest-to-goodness American citizens. Those crocodile tears. The lies. The obvious sorrow for the fact that you got caught and could potentially face death.
Cutts claimed, while confessing to “accidentally” murdering Jessie Davis, that he went to her house last June to pick up their 2-year-old son, Blake, and he just happened to give her an elbow to the neck as he was trying to leave.
Remember, this guy was a well-built, muscular cop who knew at least basic self-defense; while Davis was a tiny, fragile pregnant woman.
We’ve all been hit in the neck at one time or another, either by accident, a schoolyard fight, or by a piece of flying debris while working on the house or in the yard, etc. You get the picture. Thus, an elbow to the neck is a far cry from Cutts and Davis rolling around on the living room floor and breaking the coffee table.
A jury began deliberating on Tuesday in the trial of the former Canton, Ohio police officer who murdered his pregnant lover and then wrapped her body in a comforter and dumped it in a park.
We wonder if Cutts was crying when he dumped that body? Or when he realized he had murdered the mother of his children?
Cutts has pleaded not guilty to charges including aggravated murder. If he is convicted he could be sentenced to death—which is where all those tears are originating from.
Cutts, after all, doesn’t want to end up where he put Jessie Davis and his unborn child.
Why?
Because he, like most killers and victimizers, is a coward.
In closing arguments, prosecutor Dennis Barr said Cutt’s story made “no sense.” Barr said Cutts wanted Davis and “her fetus dead because of mounting debt and child support,” noting quite astutely,
“You don’t hide the body unless you’re trying to cover up a criminal act, a purposeful killing, especially when you’re a trained police officer sworn to serve and protect.”
Makes sense to me.
Barr responded in his rebuttal to a defense claim that Cutts panicked, reminding the jury of what Blake, his and Davis’ 2-year-old son, told an investigator as the cops began their search for Jessie Davis:
‘Mommy’s crying. Mommy broke the table. Mommy’s in the rug. Daddy’s mad.’ ”
Could a 2-year-old make that up?
The prosecutor added, “… That’s evidence that Bobby committed aggravated murder.”
Plain and simple.
Cutts wants “involuntary manslaughter or voluntary manslaughter,” which is the only reason he admitted to the murders and cried out in court.
But let’s Cutt to the chase here (last Cutt on Cutt, I promise): the dude in guilty and needs to pay.
The question then becomes personal: Should Cutts die for his crimes?

February 14th, 2008 at 2:46 pm
I’d rather him sit in prison with people he arrested for the rest of his life.
February 14th, 2008 at 3:30 pm
Surely his attorney advised him to stfu??
He might have stood a better chance, had he said nothing at all, than to tell such an incredulous tale.
February 14th, 2008 at 4:09 pm
I saw the footage of him crying on TV and he made me sick. While I am not a proponent of the DP I do think he deserves to die. Any heartless mo-fo that can kill the pregnant mother of his children in front of their own child doesn’t deserve to breathe the same air as the rest of us. But, I agree with Terri, I would rather see his dusty black ass rot in a prison cell.
February 14th, 2008 at 4:21 pm
Does he deserve to die? Yes. Would justice be better served if he lived a very, very long life in an environment who hates people who injure or kill children? Much better punishment. In General Population.
February 14th, 2008 at 5:14 pm
Dusty black ass? You actually make a good point that abolitionists like to point out.
Did you know that more than half of the people on Death Row (which has an average stay of 19 years) are black, but the population of Ohio only has about 11% black people?
Not only that it will cost more than 3 times to kill him then lock him up for life. Money that can be spent on resources for crime fighting I might add. Also that the neighboring states that have Life Without Parole have lower crime rates than Ohio.
February 14th, 2008 at 5:39 pm
Some of the jurorists apparently fell for the sucker’s crying because there’s still no verdict.
I say stick his ass in prison for life.
February 14th, 2008 at 5:51 pm
I’m with you all. Let him rot. Although I do think he DESERVES to die, I just can’t stand to wait decades for it to happen while he’s sitting in his own little cell.
February 14th, 2008 at 6:21 pm
Off with his head!
(For leaving his own son alone to starve, hurt himself, sort out the shit he’d just witnessed, etc.)
February 14th, 2008 at 7:15 pm
Bobby Cutts should join Scott Peterson and Lisa Montgomery on death row for his crimes. Cutts would never be put in general population anyway if he gets LWOP; he would be put in protective custody where all his needs are met. And because Cutts is a former cop, he would be protected from the other inmates who would want to take him out.
What Cutts did to Jessie Davis and her unborn baby girl is no accident as he claims. Hitting her in the neck with his elbow isn’t enough to kill her. I don’t buy his story and his crocodile tears. There were no real tears! I’m sure Cutts is scared about facing death. Imagine how Jessie felt in her last moments? She must’ve pleaded for her life and for baby Chloe. Cutts killed the mother of HIS children and his own baby girl then, he left his two year old son alone with no food and soiled diapers. I don’t have any sympathy for Cutts whatsoever.
February 14th, 2008 at 7:15 pm
Either one are good enough for me, as long as “life in prison” means life, and death means that he dies at the hands of the prison Dr. not of old age. He looked ridiculous on the stand. He’s about as believable as OJ.
Is anyone still baffled as to why he called Myisha? It doesn’t appear that she was much help, especially not in the “watch my son” category. Cutts was strong enough to load and unload a body, so I still don’t see the use in her. He claimed he called her to get her to watch Blake, which of course she failed miserably at. It disgusts me enough to know that BC knew that little Blake was there all alone, but I’m just as disgusted that this “mother”, Myisha, also knew he was there alone and did nothing.
February 14th, 2008 at 7:21 pm
Tina, its SO not about sympathy.
February 14th, 2008 at 11:30 pm
Here is an interesting article regarding Bobby Butts’ -er Cutts’ hiring. I am just including it FYI…not necessarily with any intended (or unintended) insinuations.

I can tell you this. As a veteran police officer, Bobby Cutts has been through enough tramatic and life-threatening situations for both himself and others to remain calm and level-headed through about anything. IF (and we know better) he did strike her in the neck and she was not breathing, he was WELL aware the baby could survive IF he called EMS and HIS daughter taken by Cesarean. I believe a fetus/child can survive 8-20 minutes in the womb when the mother passes. He WANTED them BOTH dead. NO responsibility for him to worry about that way. His only selfish goal.
I seriously doubt he ever asked Myisha to “watch” his son. Another lie on his part to include her. (If she stated he asked, I did not read about that yet.) I think Bobby knew Myisha looked up to him as either a roll model or had a crush on him since high school…so he used her for nothing more than to implicate her as an accomplice. I believe her when she stated she would have never imagined there was a body in the back of the truck. Certainly she was also traumatized not wanting involvement and taking his poor advice to lie to authorities. At LEAST she told the truth in the end, which will never happen on Bobby’s side.
She is also going to jail for a while, but has the potential to clear her conscious which is something we can see Bobby does not possess.
Bobby is in line with Scott Peterson and our Cowardly Lion…except the REAL cowardly lion is much better looking ;>)
February 15th, 2008 at 8:53 am
Another thought I meant to type out…I have a strong suspicion Bobby Cutts was trained to perform CPR. WTF is up with “I used bleach to try to revive her”. Uh…ooookaaaaaaay.
We’re about to get a verdict. Pray it is what he deserves. 1st degree murder…2 counts!
February 15th, 2008 at 9:24 am
Count 1- GUILTY of murder (Jessie)
Count 2- GUILTY of aggravated murder (Baby Chloe)
Count 3- GUILTY of aggravated murder (unlawful termination of pregnancy)
Count 4- GUILTY of aggravated buglary
Count 5- GUILTY of gross abuse of a corpse (Jessie)
Count 6- GUILTY of gross abuse of corpse (Chloe)

(Troll is standing and applauding the jury and prosecutors….and giving the finger to Bobby Cutts before handing him a bar of soap so he can drop it in his new shower.)
February 15th, 2008 at 9:47 am
Dusty black ass and lily white ass are popular phrases where I live.
Any money saved by keeping convicts in prison rather than giving them the DP isn’t going to save lives and prevent crimes. It would be nice if it worked that way, but it doesn’t.
February 15th, 2008 at 9:50 am
DP isnt saving lives. And the money absolutely could be used towards crime prevention programs.
February 15th, 2008 at 9:50 am
Oh, and I applaud the jury as well. I wonder what the hell they were deliberating about?
February 15th, 2008 at 9:57 am
My thoughts exactly re: the jury, Melissa…but I do think all concerned, and especially the judge, are trying to be very careful that this whole trial is done exactly “by the book” so there is no chance of it rearing up and biting them in the ass in the future!
February 15th, 2008 at 10:04 am
Gam,
Exactly. They are making sure there will be no room for appeal.
The only reason the DP is more expensive is due to the greedy defen$e attorneys. Otherwise, about a buck in electricity or a .50 bullet would be it.
Sadly, crime prevention will not stop the criminal. Most of them like being exactly “what” they are and have no interest in changing. That said, crime prevention programs could very, well help the honest citizens become more aware of how to prevent getting into a situation that would make them a victim…or how to protect themselves should the worst happen.
February 15th, 2008 at 10:06 am
I say Cutt the Crap, Cutt off his head… ooops… can’t do that, pity.
Then let him sit in prison for the rest of his sickening life. He’s scum. It’s horrific enough that he murdered Jessie, but that he did it in front of Blake, is beyond humanity. Now Blake has no mom for the rest of his life. A mom who loved him with all her heart. A mom who would have taken care of him, no matter what. A mom that wanted to watch him grow into a man.
This monster Cutts deserves NOTHING except pure hell. Death is too good for this lowlife. ROT IN PRISON YOU PIECE OF SEWAGE.
I feel my blood pressure risin…………
February 15th, 2008 at 10:21 am
PULL THE PLUG
FLIP THE SWITCH
FILL THE SYRINGE
Whatever your preference.
Why should the taxpayers have to pay for his room, his meals, so he can watch TV, go to a library and get a degree…..Thats not the prison her family has been sentenced to! Their prison is a must more isolated place, the void of all ammentities that can soothe them. Her mother is forced into her own little private cell everytime she dreams of her daughters future and the fact that she never even got to see what her grandchild looked like.
There is no punishment he can receive that will ever equal that of Jesse’s son. Her poor son that has to face every day knowing that his own father thought so little of him that he killed his mother right in front of his very eyes. Then left him alone in the house!!
This little boy will have more days of punishment than is so-called father will ever serve. And for what!? He is but an innocent child caught up in a life filled with what-ifs and should-have-beens. But did his MrCutts ever shed a tear for that?
I say that he has to pay the ultimate price for taking the life of his son’s mother, he has to pay with his LIFE!
That could be the only resemblance of justice being served.
February 15th, 2008 at 10:23 am
Just saw a picture of the bleach stain on the carpet. It does not look like an accidental spill at all. I can’t believe he expected anyone to believe that. I can’t believe his attorney let him say that in court.
February 15th, 2008 at 10:23 am
He gets automatic appeals if he gets the DP – has nothing to do with lawyers, thats the law.
February 15th, 2008 at 10:25 am
Actually crime prevention could very well help the criminals. If they get to them early. Kids mentoring programs for example.
February 15th, 2008 at 10:36 am
Melissa,
Ok, I’ll give it to you on the “if we get them as kids” thing. That is true….but still, even if the appeal is automatic, why so expensive? The attorney$ on the defense.
February 15th, 2008 at 10:45 am
I feel like he will get the DP.
I read that article GAM and it was interesting. I was shocked to find that he was still hired after being near the bottom of his class. Maybe there will come a time when we can hire the best person for a job and not have to worry about demographics.
February 15th, 2008 at 10:48 am
Generally speaking, the attorneys for DP are court appointed or pro bono. They dont get paid much at all. Its the processes that they have to go through that cost all that money.
February 15th, 2008 at 10:54 am
Yesssssssssssss (except I don’t understand the lack of aggravated murder of Jessie…guess the crying won them over).
Guilty on all counts with the exception of aggravated murder of Jessie. He was found guilty of aggravated murder of the baby so is eligible for the death penalty.
February 15th, 2008 at 10:56 am
Melissa, well if that is the case, the process is a disgrace, you know?
Sophie, sadly there are fewer and fewer men and women WANTING to get into law enforcement. So, the department is rather stuck having to take what they can get in too many cases.
With the pathetic salary an officer gets, why would pass up a job that can truly support a family? Besides, the world is no longer a nice place and their lives are more in danger than ever before. Also, if they “dare” to defend themselves and/or make an honest mistake, they get sued.
Just no way to fix all of this. I truly believe that in America we are basically seeing “the last days of Rome”…but it’s America this time.
Anyone got a cave I can rent out to live in? ;>)
February 15th, 2008 at 10:57 am
He did get agg murder on Jessie, he also got regular murder. Count 3 is Jessie, Count 2 is Baby Chloe.
February 15th, 2008 at 11:34 am
Troll~
As a regular reader (and sometimes poster) of Crimerant, I wanted to tell you that I have enjoyed reading your comments. Thanks for sharing from your experience as law enforcement. And sometimes, I also want to find a cave also. Preferably one on a remote beach…………….
February 15th, 2008 at 12:07 pm
Troll is in LE?
February 15th, 2008 at 12:13 pm
Melissa, Bobbie was found not guilty of the aggravated murder of Jessie (count 1), but guilty of the lesser charge of murder on count 1. Counts 2 & 3 were both for Baby Chloe. #2 Unlawful termination of a pregnancy #3 Murder of a viable fetus These were both aggravated murder. Not up on the law as to why these were separate charges…but will take whatever they can slam him with. I am pretty sure this is correct (see my earlier post). I wrote it down as they were SLOWLY reading them off in the live coverage this a.m. Correct me if I’m wrong…:)
February 15th, 2008 at 12:16 pm
Yep…here it is from local news site: Cutts, 30, was convicted of aggravated murder in the death of the nearly full-term female fetus, for which he could receive the death penalty, life in prison without parole or life with parole eligibility after 20, 25 or 30 years. The jury found him not guilty of aggravated murder in Davis’ death, a count that includes intent to kill with prior calculation and design. But they convicted him of a lesser charge of murder in her death.
February 15th, 2008 at 12:22 pm
Oops, I read one of his (Trolls) posts incorrectly. (Feb.15th / 7:55) It says that Bobby Cutts was a veteran police officer. My mistake.
Troll, whatever your profession may be, I have enjoyed your comments.
February 15th, 2008 at 12:27 pm
gam, since babies cant get pregnant, my assumption was that charge was for Jessie. Shrugs, I dont really understand the charges either, but I love it that he got 2 agg murder charges.
February 15th, 2008 at 12:41 pm
No..not in law enforcement, but have several friends (we work together in band boosters for our high school), a next door neighbor, and a cousin currently in it. We also own some property and trespassers/poachers have been a problem, so I have our two game warden’s cell numbers so I can call them directly. I love talk to all of them about issues because it is so enlightening. Also, my husband is a contractor and the county sheriff’s son-in-law works for him, so we talk to the sheriff alot…he’s great!
When I was young, I wanted to be a military police officer in the Marines..but did not meet height/weight requirements. I’m only 5′3″ and 115lbs. Had to be 5/4 & either 125 or 135, cannot remember. I did not join as I was so disappointed!
February 15th, 2008 at 12:43 pm
by the way…I’m a female troll :>)
February 15th, 2008 at 12:43 pm
Me, too!
February 15th, 2008 at 12:44 pm
UH…I meant “Me, too, Melissa” Not me too a female troll!
February 15th, 2008 at 2:52 pm
Is he related to OJ?
February 15th, 2008 at 3:27 pm
I thought the same thing when I heard his testimony JW. Just the fact that he found himself to be believable, and most likely thought everyone else would too, reminded me of OJ.
Thank God the trial outcome is completely different in this case.
February 15th, 2008 at 3:48 pm
Oh Ill bet his lawyer didnt want him to go up there. Like you said, he is just that cocky that he thought people would buy that story.
February 15th, 2008 at 4:04 pm
I thought he confessed to police and led them to Jessie’s body. If that was the case, I don’t see how he couldn’t testify. I think he was just giving it his best shot, tears and all.
February 15th, 2008 at 4:35 pm
A defendant is not compelled to testify, in fact most competent defense lawyers advise against it.
February 15th, 2008 at 5:38 pm
The defendant is the only person at trail that has the right to remain silent.
He could have shut up at any time.
February 15th, 2008 at 5:38 pm
trial…not trail
February 16th, 2008 at 6:37 am
I know that Melissa but if he gave a confession and they used it as evidence against him at the trial he would have had to explain it. Otherwise he would certainly be convicted. There are certain times when it makes sense for a defentant to testify at his trial even if he doesn’t have to. It makes sense here.
February 16th, 2008 at 8:53 am
I agree, Sophie, that in this case Cutts needed to give an explanation of his actions. The autopsy failed to show the cause of death and he was the one that led investigators to her body. Too bad (for him) that he came up with such a sorry explanation. In fact, there is no good explanation or excuse, but I think they felt compelled to offer at least a feeble one.
February 16th, 2008 at 9:29 am
That is what I am saying GAM. If he wasn’t going to testify, he may as well have plead and avoided the trial alltogether.
February 16th, 2008 at 6:22 pm
Its up to the lawyer to explain it. They usually do a better job of it. There is a reason that most defendents (especially the obviously guilty ones) dont testify.
February 16th, 2008 at 6:31 pm
BTW – OJ did not testify at his trial. If he did I suspect there may have been a different result.
February 16th, 2008 at 6:40 pm
I am willing to bet that BCs lawyer told him to plea and if he didn’t plea the he would have to testify at his own trial. There just wasn’t any other way here. Most defense attorneys do advise their clients to not testify….but not all because in some cases, it make sense for them to do so. I don’t expect melissa and a to understand this.
February 16th, 2008 at 6:48 pm
You don’t expect ME to understand this? Sophie I have held my tongue MANY times about your flakiness on many issues. Don’t even go there.
I on the other hand an willing to bet his lawyers told him NOT to testify. But he thought that people would believe him so he went against their wishes.
February 16th, 2008 at 11:03 pm
Geez. Sophie, you’ve got to be the queen of baiting an argument.
Enough said about that.
And if I could actually stand you Sophie, I’d take you up on that bet, because I cannot fathom that his atty advised him to share his pathetic tale…
February 17th, 2008 at 2:04 am
No A, you are the queen of arguing. You can only stand people that agree with you all of the time. I get that. I don’t understand why you and Melissa can’t accept other opinions. I think becuase you both can’t stand it when someone else is right. I hate it for you.
February 17th, 2008 at 6:34 am
Sophie says:- I hate it for you.
How delightfully phrased and most Christian of you, Sophie. Melissa is right, but “flaky” is much too restrained a word for you. If you hate someone else, take the plank out of your own eye first!
February 17th, 2008 at 12:46 pm
Perhaps Sophie, you should Google “defendants testifying” – it yields 744,000 results.
When a defendant does NOT testify, then his moral character is not allowed in trial. When he does, just like any other witness, he is fair game.
There is one article I ran across where a former prosecutor now a private attorney stated “that he never lost a case when a defendant decided to testify”
February 17th, 2008 at 3:56 pm
You know, just thinking about this. But there was no plea deal on the table at any time as far as I know.
What could his attorney’s possibly ask him to plea to?
February 17th, 2008 at 6:47 pm
Did I read that correctly? He said he used Bleach to revive her? Did he think she was some Victorian maiden taken with the vapors and in his panicked search for hartshorn, he mistakenly grabbed the bleach bottle and dumped it on her??? Perhaps he was channeling Kelly Rippa and just didn’t have a Tide pen . . .
February 17th, 2008 at 11:16 pm
Oh yeah, Bobby said he tried to revive her with bleach…It was all over the room – he obviously was using it to try to clean up evidence. He is pathetic to think that a jury would believe his foolish story.
February 20th, 2008 at 5:47 am
Kudos to the jury on this one!
February 22nd, 2008 at 10:58 pm
it is so gratifying when juries get it right. i’m following the amanda knoxs saga, and am really surprised that one of them has not ratted on the other. troll, i love the way you expressyourself, and am still laughing about the soap.suzanne
February 25th, 2008 at 7:20 am
Changing the subject alittle, I would like to be in contact with others who have experienced corruption or embezzlement by attorneys or judges in Michigan Probate Court systems especially around the Detroit areas. I would appreciate hearing some of their concerns or stories.Thank you.
February 27th, 2008 at 12:49 pm
Cutts jury gave him life without parole (for 30 yrs.) for each murder. No death penalty!
February 29th, 2008 at 1:00 pm
i believe Bobby cutta is EVIL and there is no other reasonw hy he would do something so inhuman as to murder anyone!! not to talk of someone you claim to love, or who is carrying our hcild and in front of your other kid!! come-on, the tears are just him mocking the jury. he probably thinks they are stupid! like that was not enough he left his 2year old son home alone from wed night to friday! how could he!! after the trauma he caused him ! if it was an accident why didnt he leave her there and at least take the son or something!! he is a police officer let us remember so he knows the procedures and he knew what he was doing! not calling an ambualnce, bleaching the place up, dumping the body! the whole thing was planned out! now he has taken two lives and ruined that of his son. he doesnt deserve to die that wud be too good for him! he deserves to be in prison for 57 years and get hard labor along with it. he shudnt be given any priviledgs cuz he is a liar and a disgrace to the law!! he shud be put in with every other low-life criminal like himself and not be given preferential treatment! hopefully he doesnt kill himself in jail cuz that will defeat the whole thing
