Picture This: Britney Spears Over and Out
This really isn’t a crime, but jeesh…what was Britney Spears thinking making a comeback on MTV’s Video Music Award show tonight?
She was out of shape, out of her mind, unable to focus on the song she was supposed to move her lips to. So very sad.
Here’s the kicker. Whoever her handlers are surely knew she was not ready for prime time. I can imagine them telling her that she was going look “hot” and this was going to be the comeback that she needed to kickstart her career. Talk about a set up!
What a shame all of this was.

Well, I applaud Britney for trying to make a comeback. But she still has so many issues in her life to work out. She needs to focus on being a full time mother to her kids. And to stop partying so much. Maybe once she is happy with herself then she will have a successful singing career again.

There’s no question that she should focus on her kids. I just get the feeling that she’s surrounded herself with users who don’t give a rip about her — long as the dough comes in. She looks like she’s headed toward Anna Nicole Town these days, don’t you think?

Trying to make a comeback? That wasn’t trying. Spears looked completely uninvolved and uninterested.
That was just embarrassing for everyone concerned-onscreen and off.
Gawd, why doesn’t someone close to her get that girl some help instead of pushing her onstage again? She doesn’t need a comeback-she needs to get her head straight.
What is up with the constant pushing in Hollywood? Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, etc. If they have true talent, the career can be put on hold long enough to get their lives together. Look at Jodie Foster and Brooke Shields, who both took time off to go to college and do other things. It’s too bad there isn’t someone to help Spears, Lohan, etc. prioritize.

It’s Britney, bitch. Yes, that act was pretty lame. Everything Gregg said was right on. She was out of shape and her lip synching was terrible. The song sucked too. She’ll always be able to sell a show in Vegas though, so her handlers will stay in it for the money.

Right on Gregg. The ‘ole “enablement” problem. These people enable her to be out of control. Party with her, lie to her, get her whatever drugs or drinks she needs at the moment. All the while reveling (sp)in her money.
She needs to DUMP them all. It’s really sad, it does look as though she hasn’t a true friend in the world.
If she’d straighten her act out, she could have 2 of the best friends on earth…. her children.

Seeing that picture of Britney reminded me of Barbara Payton. I can see her going down that same road. I never really cared for her or her music, but I don feel sorry for her children.

I heard that Brit was upset and crying prior to her so-called performance because of Sarah Silverman’s slams at her and jibes about her children.
From what I have read, she has no relationship with her family now and no real manager or handler anymore. She obviously doesn’t have a stylist .
It is clear from her appalling antics over the past year or so that the girl needs help. I can’t help feeling sorry for her. She seems like a confused lost soul en route to self-destruction.

I kind of think that MTV had a pretty good idea that the act would be a fiasco, but their desparate attempt for a bigger viewing audience included “bad publicity is better than none at all”.
I still can hardly believe she actually performed – surely she has a few brain cells left(and a mirror)to know she couldn’t pull it off???? The outfit, the hair, the late-night parties – a cry for help or a crazy come-back strategy??? It seemed like she didn’t even try.
As for the Silverman chick – mentioning the kids was unforgiveable!

She needs some serious help. Time to get some new handlers. Fire all the leeches. Take some time off. Quit the partying, get healthy. Spend quality time with those beautiful boys. I think she looked ok, and with the right stylist people out there would have been talking about how fabulous she looked for having birthed 2 babies instead of talking about her “paunch.”
and I’m one of those that would much rather listen to fingernails on a chalkboard than ANY of her albums…
Her “people” are doing her a serious disservice.

poor britney….i used to really like her, in the late 90’s…she needs to give it up now, bow out with some dignity and be a good mum to her kids instead of trying to party it up like a single person. as any young (responsible) mum could tell her, i think the days of hard partying are pretty much over when you have the responsibility of a kid! or two!
but enough already about her stomach, she’s had two kids for gods sake.

Yeah. She has been through a lot. And it was all of her own making. It’s not like she showed up on the super star scene fresh off the farm, wide-eyed and naive. She’s been doing show business since she was a child. She decided to live it up with the other young stars, knowing that it wasn’t good for her, the children or her career. Now she’s crying in her champagne wanting sympathy because she’s “been through a lot” and she’s a washed up has been before she’s 30. Her entourage backstage told her it was the “best performance she ever gave”.
A reporter said she performed the rehearsals better than the actual performance.
I hope she gets the help she needs, before she ends up like Anna Nicole.

I think it is the “too much too young” thing that you see with a lot of football and other top sports people these days. They are so hyped up by there hangers on, they have so much money thrown at them and they have no connection with the real world (a real job, continuing education) that they try to find something, anything to fill the gap. I’m not saying that it isn’t the persons fault but I also think that a good kick in the pants and a dose of the real world would go a long way to helping.

I have heard a few people speculate that they wonder if any of her recent behavior could be related to post-partum depression. She and K-Fed split up just a few months after the second boy’s birth, and that’s when she really started getting crazy. Makes ya wonder.
I am always torn between feeling sorry for her and feeling contempt for her. Above all, she just seems so *needy* like Lindsay Lohan.

I found video on Youtube of Britney’s performance on the VMAs and this is what the user posted about why she sucked. I’m sure the video will be taken down soon as I saw other videos and when I tried to click on them they said they were taken down because of copyrights…blah blah.

Britney threatened to ditch her VMA performance just minutes before she took the stage. Want to know why? Britney overheard Sarah Silverman rehearsing her monologue in which she calls Britney’s babies mistakes and takes jab after jab at Britney.
Britney made it very clear with MTV that Sarah was NOT allowed to talk about her kids, and MTV agreed. That big-mouthed bitch said it anyway.
Sam Lufti (VMA producer) was overheard backstage screaming at Sarah Silverman because of her outrageous remarks saying: “Sarah Silverman is a seriously unprofessional person to make fun of infants to get a laugh.”
Perhaps this why Britney looked upset during her performance. Britney was seen backstage in Alli’s arms crying about how cruel people can be to her babies.
While it is Silverman’s job to get a laugh, it should not be at the expense of little babies. Your career must be hurting if you have to turn to bashing infants in order to gain a laugh. You’ll get what’s yours.

Supposidly, what Britney and Chris were planning was to do a set of mirrors and flotation. But when told to the Palms Hotel/Casino… the hotel flipped.
Insurance was the main problem, and the stage couldn’t support the performance. MTV also freaked at the last minute because of their fear of being “too controversial” during the performance. Britney and Chris were infact furious with MTV’s sad excuse and told Britney to change the performance at the last minute.

Who gives a rat’s butt about her excuses. I am so tired of entertainers and athletes assuming they get a free pass for their responsibilities. If she was any kind of professional she would have gone on that stage and preformed a kick ass show, regardless of what occured before. That just leads me to believe even more that she is mediocore at best. What the heck? She can’t even remember the words to her own songs? She doesn’t even have to sing them just move her lips!! I would be royally pissed if I paid to see a show and that is what I got for my money.
Let’s face it. No matter what happens in our lives we are required to go in and do our job. If not we wouldn’t have one. She wanted the lime light and now has “problems” because she got it and people are making fun of her. Too bad. Get passed it or use some of that royalty money to get a better shrink.

I don’t watch this stuff. But after reading your post I had to go hunt down the YouTube vid. Okay, yeah her performance sucked. And I guess if your job is to run around in front of a bunch of people half dressed, she was a tad out of shape for the bare midriff. But honestly, for someone who just had two babies, I think she looks pretty damn good, physically – I should look so good after two kids!
Other than that, I think she’s proof you can take the girl out of the trailer park but you can’t take the trailer park out of the girl.

The more I read about this the more I do feel sorry for her, she wasnt prepared for this act, she was prepared for another one, the woman calling her kids mistakes, her already fragile psyche.. etc. Britney needs to get rid of all her handlers and get someone who is looking out for HER best interest, not who is in it for the money.
And I agree, she doesnt look bad, the girl has the type of body that she will always be battling with her weight. She is immature and doesnt realize that wearing clothes like that (or lack thereof) should be left to people that look good in them. She needs to dress for her own body type, and if she did she would look fabulous.

I’d be the happiest woman on earth if I had that body after two kids, especially since my kids are in their 20’s. Lol! The fact is that she is not emaciated looking which seems to be the only kind of body accepted as being attractive by the Hollywood set these days. Curves are not acceptable unless you’re Beyonce.
Britney walks around half-dressed in every photo I see of her. I don’t understand why she feels she has to do that. I am wondering if she performed in that bikini because she thought she looked awesome in it; if that was the case, then I commend her for having such high self-esteem. Lol

I’m not so sure there’s much pushing/forcing her onstage as there is an immature person who is living in a fishbowl and won’t take advise from anyone. She has a mind of her own – insisted on doing lots of things her “handlers” tried to talk her out of (the outfit) or into (like practicing instead of partying non-stop).

For having 2 kids and being pregnant basically for 2 years, I think she looked great and worked hard and will continue to so she gets her infamous abs back. There was a lot of overreacting on her weight.
Postpartum I can understand especially with 2 kids one right after another.
Simon Cowell has extended a sincere and honest offer to Britney to help get her back on track because he really likes her and would love to help. I think that is the first compassionate thing we have heard from Simon ever!

I think Britney is an awsome celebrity. And people need to quit bringin her down. Becuase if you want her to ahcieve something then quit naggin at her all the time. Put yourself in her shoes and it wont feel to good. The Video Music Award show wasn’t all bad, although this wasn’t Britney’s best performance. But give her time: this was a bad show and she’ll get better. I have faith that she can release better material again!
