Picture This: Hot Type

HotType.jpgAuthor Chris Walter really knows how to make a statement about what he’s passionate about, don’t you think?

Here’s what he says on his MySpace page:

“…I’m a grouchy old wanker who spends all his time publishing and writing nasty books that no one reads. My dream is to someday appear on the Oprah Winfrey Show, just so I can puke all over the place and make a total ass of myself. When I die, I would like to be cryogenically frozen so I can come back and fuck up this planet all over again. It is my goal to have the smallest number of friends on Myspace, blah, blah, blah…”

Just thought we’d share.

Cop’s Wife: Stupid is as Stupid Does

Wednesday, February 27th, 2008

She’s about the biggest jerk to hit TV since we don’t kcleri.jpgnow when.Lauren Cleri, the wife of a New York City cop, admitted to cheating on him and wanting to be married to another man this week on trashy Fox’s “The Moment of Truth”. She says she did it for fame and fortune.OK, that’s classy.

According to the New York Post:

Cleri, 26, and her husband, Frank, 24, came away from the show with no prize money, no immediate job offers for her and a possible divorce in the future after being eliminated when a polygraph detected a “fib.”

Proof, finally, that there is a God.

“We’re kind of up in the air right now — I want to [get back together], but I don’t think he does,” Lauren Cleri told the Post.

“It’s not very easy to overcome,” Frank Cleri, a cop with the 48th Precinct in The Bronx, told the Post.

Of course this kind of “show” says something about its participants, but it also says something about us, too.

There’s always a new low, isn’t there?

God’s Grace: Nancy Gives Birth Two Months Early

Tuesday, November 6th, 2007

Nancy_Grace_2.jpgAs much as we criticize Nancy Grace and scrutinize the way she carries herself on television, none of it is, or ever was, personal. It’s all business to us here at Crime Rant. We disagree with Nancy on many issues.

Nonetheless, we were happy to hear last night that Nancy had given birth to two healthy babies and wanted to congratulate Nancy on this incredible miracle of life. We’re grateful things went well for Nancy and wish her the best with the children.

From the AP:

Nancy Grace is now the mother of twins, after doctors induced labor two months before her due date. Grace, host of legal affairs talk show “Nancy Grace” on CNN Headline News, gave birth to a boy, John David, and a girl, Lucy Elizabeth, on Sunday, said CNN spokeswoman Janine Iamunno.

John David weighed 5 pounds, 1 ounce, and Lucy Elizabeth weighed 2 pounds, 15 ounces at birth.

Grace, 48, had developed pulmonary edema — fluid in the lungs — and doctors told her it would be better for her health, and that of the children, if labor was induced, CNN said.

Iamunno said Monday that Grace and the children are doing well.

Grace, a former prosecutor with the Fulton County District Attorney’s office, plans to return to hosting her CNN show as soon as possible, Iamunno said.

Grace’s husband, David Linch, is an Atlanta investment banker.

Three cheers for Nancy and her courage to have children at her age! We’ll pray the children and Nancy continue to do well so she can get back to her post behind the helm on CNN Headline News—after all, there are hundreds, maybe even thousands, of elderly out there awaiting her return to the airwaves.

Kid Rock: The Messiah of White Trash Rednecks

Wednesday, October 24th, 2007

Kid_Rock.jpgWhat do you get when you combine alcohol, stupidity, the munchies and a pack of punkass wannabe rapper-rockers who think they’re bad ass dudes?

Exactly: a Kid Rock brawl at a local Waffle House in the middle of the night.

Thirty-six-year-old Kid Rock was arrested over the weekend along with five members of his entourage “after an argument with a man who entered the Waffle House escalated into a fight,” Reuters reported.

“Rock along with five members of his entourage were charged with one count of battery, which is a misdemeanor. The victim … was treated and released at a local hospital for his injuries,” Mekka Parish, spokeswoman for DeKalb County police, said.

The Waffle House pressed charges against the man involved in the fight with Rock’s entourage after a window was punched out during the fight, which started inside but ended in the parking lot, Parish said.

She said Rock had given a concert in Atlanta earlier in the evening and left the scene on his tour bus after the fight. He was stopped and arrested about a mile down the road, Parish said.

He was released on bond.

The guy’s got the No. 1 record in the country and he’s fighting in a Waffle House with strangers.

You know, they say you can’t take “da hood” out of the rappers and this may be true. But we’ll say this: You definitely cannot take the white trash out of the red neck—Rock proves this time and again.
