Letter of the Week: More Maddie

CrimeRant-LetterWk1.gif[Reader Dennis Williams reminded us that the Maddie McCann mystery still captivates in his recent the post on Crime Rant's Maddie McCann: New Twists.]

Look at this as we see it not as we wish it to be. First of all, leaving the kids alone with unlocked doors and windows. All the kids asleep at once with no interuption of kid play or mishaps that kids do when parents aren’t around. The other two kids still fast asleep even after the mother is screaming and people going in and out of rooms in frantic search for daughter and not even waking up the other kids to get any info on the where abouts of sister. Before her disappearance the kids were only checked on every half and up to every hour and not even going into the bedroom to check on them. That check on the kids story sounds more like an alibi of guilt than an act of responsibilty. With the adults being drunk how can any story any of them provide be taken as straight fact or drunken stuper to act as ignorance as to not convict ignorance. For the kids to all be asleep so early and to stay asleep suggest that foul play was at the hands of the parents and slipping something in their juice or soda to make them sleep and stay asleep seems more plausable than just a simple sleep at 6:00pm. None of the kids had given any blood or urine as to test for sleeping drugs. No other witnesses have been reported to verify the story they gave to police. If parents get caught then they lose everything along with their friends losing everything career wise and freedom and thats enough to keep everyone from telling what exactly happened that evening. I wonder, was it completely dark out that evening the whole time they were away from their kids or just the part of time that the child was taken? Whom in the alibi was at the party and who was the ones in the room and why did they seem so caring when they left their kids alone in the first place to get even more drunk than what they were in the first place. Is the doctors drunks and if so why are they aloud to operate on people or even give care to them and if not acloholics then drinking all day and then leaving kids alone is something that doctors recommend for people to do. These are the professionals that take care of people? Sounds like professional liars and killers of a young girl who had no chance in the hands of drunks.

Baby Grace: Not Maddie, but Riley Ann

Monday, November 26th, 2007

Remember when it was ALL MADDIE ALL THE TIME and it was reported by some news agencies and bloggers that the little girl found in a storage bin in Galveston Bay, Texas, might be Madeleine McCann?Riley Ann Sawyers.jpg

Not so fast.

From this morning’s AP:

DALLAS – A couple who never reported that their toddler went missing this summer have been arrested by investigators searching for the identity of a girl whose body washed ashore in a storage bin in Galveston Bay.

Authorities are awaiting DNA test results but believe the girl is 2-year-old Riley Ann Sawyers of Spring, said Galveston County sheriff’s Maj. Ray Tuttoilmondo.

The girl’s mother, Kimberly Dawn Trenor, 19, and Royce Clyde Zeigler II, 24, reportedly told relatives that she was taken in July by someone claiming to be an Ohio social worker. But they never told police she was missing, Tuttoilmondo said.

After police searched their suburban Houston home, they were arrested early Sattrenor.jpgurday and chazeigler.jpgrged with injury to a child and tampering with evidence, Tuttoilmondo said. The couple remain jailed in lieu of $350,000 bail each.

It’s unclear whether they are married, Tuttoilmondo said. Riley’s father lives in Ohio.

Tuttoilmondo declined to say what was found or what the couple may have said about Riley’s disappearance.

This is the line that broke a few hearts around here:

Last week, authorities said the families of eight missing children from across the United States were being asked to provide DNA samples. Tuttoilmondo said they were selected from 110 cases of missing children who matched a description of the girl being called “Baby Grace.” The child was described as being 2 or 3.

Think about those families — and all the others — who have no idea where they little ones are.

Cruel Hoax or True Story: Maddie McCann Alive?

Monday, November 19th, 2007

maddie.jpgPortuguese investigators are “100 percent sure” missing toddler Madeleine McCann is alive, Britain’s Sunday Mirror reports.  Francisco Marco, a private eye hired by the McCann family to track the missing girl – who would be 4 years old if she’s still alive – told The Mirror he is “sure she was abducted.” “We are very, very close to finding the kidnapper,” he said.

The Daily Star is reporting: “SENSATIONAL new evidence that ‘proves’ Madeleine McCann was abducted and is still alive is to be presented to the world tomorrow night.

Investigators employed by Kate and Gerry McCann reveal a string of new clues in a TV special. And they strongly support the idea that  Madeleine was snatched from her holiday apartment on Portugal’s Algarve and is being held captive against her will.

Maddie’s Mom Made Mortgage Payments with Help Fund Dough

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

maddie.jpgBBC News is reporting Gerry and Kate McCann dipped their hands into the multi million dollar fund created by supporters helping in the search for their missing daughter, Maddie.

Says the BBC:

[The McCanns] paid at least two mortgage bills with money they obtained from the multi-million-dollar fund. “When they were made arguido [suspects], it stopped, which was a mutual decision on the part of the fund and the McCanns,” John McCann, the little girl’s uncle, tells BBC News. “They were happy to accept that their changed status meant they were no longer entitled to that assistance.”

Clarence Mitchell, a spokesman for the parents, tells Reuters that the couple made two payments totaling more than $8,000 in July and August. They’re now cut off from the $2.26 million Find Madeleine, a non-profit set up to receive donations from the public.

Great judgment, those two, huh?
